"MacDev" is the real estate development company of Robert Calhoun Smith, Jr. Recent projects include:

DOMINION HEIGHTS is an in-fill site of 40,000 SF at 3565 Lee Highway in Arlington, Virginia, near Interstate 66 and the Spout Run Parkway. MacArthur Development in partnership with The Christopher Companies, has rezoned the site currently occupied by a vacant bank branch and designated a ?Special Revitalization District? to allow a mixed-use development consisting of 49 residential condominiums and 8,600 SF of retail space. Construction began in 2011.

NORTHGATE, another in-fill site on North Washington Street at East Jefferson Street in Falls Church, Virginia, is within site of I-66 and within walking distance of the East Falls Church METRO Station. MacArthur Development, in conjunction with the Hekemian Development Company of New Jersey, has negotiated a 99-year land lease allowing the construction of a mixed-use building containing approximately 130 residential rental units and 22,000 SF of commercial space. Final approvals have been received from the City of Falls Church and construction began in 2011.

THE MORGAN OF McLEAN
is an in-fill site of 1.7 acres on Chain Bridge Road near the Dulles Access Road in McLean, Virginia. MacArthur Development, in conjunction with the Christopher Companies, rezoned the site formerly occupied by four single-family homes to its master planned density of twenty units per acre. An upscale thirty-four-unit residential condominium building with garage parking now improves the site.
